Technical Background
A self-described programmer with design and systems administration skills, my main interest remains in software engineering. For the last five year's I've made my career in creating web applications. From idea cultivation to execution, I've enjoyed guiding numerous websites through the entire creative process. In the past two and a half years my professional work has broadened to include systems administration and application programming.
My career experience intersects a wide breadth of technology. My production work so far has encompassed:
- Custom web applications in PHP and Python
- Database design in MySQL and Redis
- System scripting in Python and Bash
- System applications in Erlang and C
- Linux server installation, configuration, and management
- Virtualized OS management in VMWare ESXi, Ubuntu KVM, and Chef
- Interface, print, and web design with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Responsive web design in HTML5 and CSS3
- Custom Chrome extensions
- Custom jQuery plugins and classic JavaScript
Simply put, I am most at home tackling a tough problem armed with pen and paper, a command line, vim, and git. I strive for beautiful solutions, be it in design clarity, algorithmic effienciency, or production stack simplicity.
