Innovative ideas don't wait for standards. They push the boundaries, break some rules, and explore what's possible. At times this site will break standards validation testing in the name of innovation provided two conditions are met: the new features degrade gracefully, and the rest of the code complies with markup standards. In other words, innovation will never be used as a smokescreen for laziness and sloppy coding. Moving the web forward doesn't mean forgetting about the rest of the people behind us.
